Tara Mahrer

Real Estate. Well Played.

I believe finding the right home is about so much more than the house itself. It's about the life you'll build there, the community you'll become part of, and the memories you'll make along the way. And when it's time to sell, it's about honoring what that home has meant to you while confidently preparing for whatever comes next.

I'm Tara Mahrer, a Moore County, North Carolina Realtor, owner of Mahrer Realty, w retired military spouse, and proud mom to two amazing kids. I help buyers and sellers throughout Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Whispering Pines, Seven Lakes, Foxfire, Aberdeen, Carthage, and the surrounding Sandhills communities.

But before I tell you about the homes and communities I specialize in, I'd love to share a little about why I do what I do.

I Didn't Choose Real Estate. Real Estate Chose Me.

Real estate wasn't something I grew up dreaming of doing. In fact, for much of my life, it wasn't even on my radar.

But life has a funny way of leading us exactly where we're meant to be.

As a military family, my husband and I experienced our fair share of moves, home purchases, and sales. Along the way, I learned firsthand how much the person representing you can influence not only the outcome of a transaction, but how you feel throughout the entire experience.

When my career with the Department of the Army came to an end, I felt a strong calling toward real estate. Not because I simply wanted a new career, but because I believed there was an opportunity to offer something I had sometimes found missing in my own experiences: genuine connection, clear communication, thoughtful guidance, and an unwavering commitment to putting people first.

I wanted to create an experience where clients felt comfortable, valued, and truly cared for. Where questions were always welcome, honest conversations were the norm, and relationships mattered more than transactions.

That belief became the foundation of Mahrer Realty, and it's still what drives me today.

Local Knowledge. A Love for the Lifestyle.

One of my favorite things about living and working in Moore County is that there's no single definition of what makes this area special.

For some, it's an early morning round of golf in Pinehurst. For others, it's an afternoon on the lake in Whispering Pines or Seven Lakes, a walk through downtown Southern Pines, or simply finding a peaceful place to put down roots.

I love helping people discover which community and lifestyle feel right for them.

My real estate focus includes golf course properties, lakefront and lake-community homes, residential buying and selling, and relocation throughout Moore County and the greater Sandhills region.

I also have a special place in my heart for military families and veterans relocating to or from Fort Bragg. As the wife of a retired U.S. Army soldier who served 22 years, I understand the challenges, uncertainty, and excitement that can come with military moves. It's a privilege to help families navigate those transitions with someone who understands that lifestyle firsthand.

Experience You Can Count On. Someone You Can Trust.

Before becoming a Realtor, I spent years in leadership, healthcare operations, and Department of Defense roles where communication, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail weren't just important. They were essential.

Today, I bring that same mindset to every real estate transaction.

I believe in being proactive rather than reactive, having the difficult conversations when they're needed, and making sure my clients understand their options before making important decisions.

Whether we're evaluating a home's value, preparing a property for the market, navigating inspections, negotiating an offer, or managing the many moving pieces between contract and closing, my goal is to make the process feel as clear and manageable as possible.

But just as important as the professional side of what I do is the personal side.

I want you to feel at home working with me, long before we ever find the right one.

I want to be more than the person who helps you buy or sell a house. I want to be someone you trust, someone who listens, someone who genuinely wants the very best outcome for you, and someone you feel comfortable calling long after closing day.

Because behind every transaction is a person, a family, a story, and a reason for making a move. Those things matter to me.

A Little More About Me

When I'm not working with clients, you'll likely find me spending time with my husband and our two children, enjoying a round of golf, traveling the state with travel soccer, baseball fields, fishing, traveling the world, or making the most of everything this beautiful corner of North Carolina has to offer.

I'm a wife, a mom, a military spouse, a golfer, and someone who believes deeply in the value of relationships, community, and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

And while I take my responsibility to my clients seriously, I also believe the journey should be enjoyable. There should be room for laughter, genuine conversation, and a little fun along the way.

Your Home Caddie.

Real Estate. Well Played.

Golf has a wonderful way of reminding us that every course is different, every shot requires thought, and having the right person beside you can make all the difference.

That's the inspiration behind Your Home Caddie.

I'm here to help you understand the course, navigate the challenges, consider your options, and make confident decisions that support your goals.

Whether you're buying your first home, searching for the perfect golf or lake community, relocating to Moore County, or preparing to sell a home filled with memories, I'd be honored to be part of your journey.

My goal isn't simply to help you reach the closing table. It's to make sure you feel informed, supported, and genuinely cared for every step of the way.

And if we finish the process as friends, well, that's my favorite kind of closing.

Let's talk about where life is taking you next.
